TSA 600E Pro

02-20-2015

A week before Valentine`s Day, I had decided to sleep in for a bit on a Saturday morning. When I finally woke up (around 08:00) I found my husband at his computer, looking at TSA helicopters on Experience RC`s site. He asked me if I was still planning to get a 600E to go with the two 600Ns I already have. I said yeah, eventually I`ll get one. He didn`t say anything else for a few moments, and then he looked over to me and said " Happy Valentine`s Day". I said what are you talking about? Valentine`s day is next week. He then said " It came early this year...I just ordered your helicopter."

I was speechless. What an awesome husband he is to order me a 600 size helicopter kit for Valentine`s Day. He also ordered a scorpion motor, two extra battery trays, and a set of 6s 5000mAh batteries as well.

I got the kit on 2-12-15 and started the build the next day. Its built now, and has been test hovered in my test area in our back yard. The maiden flight will be this weekend at our local club, and we will get it on video.

Here are the specs of my new machine:

Kit: TSA 600E Pro

Main Blades: Zeal 600mm Red Energy (available only to team pilots at this time)

Tail Blades: Zeal 95mm CF Red

FBL Controller: Bavarian Demon 3X

Motor: Scorpion 4035-560kv   13T pinion

ESC: Scorpion Commander  130A OPTO

BEC: Castle BEC Pro

Cyclic Servos: Align DS610

Tail Servo: Align DS655

Series connector: RJX no wire connector.

Batteries: G-Force Elite Series 6s 5000mAh

Below, is the finished and test hovered helicopter. I can`t wait for the weekend, so I can get some good flights on this critter. Big and special thanks to TSA Model, Zeal Blades, and Bavarian Demon.

A sad goodbye to HeliProz

02-20-2015

A few weeks ago, HeliProz sent out a very saddening message to all of us who were part of Team HeliProz. They informed us that they would be shutting the doors after 15 years of serving the RC helicopter community. Shortly after we were informed of the closing they announced it publicly and started their liquidation sales.

HeliProz was my very first sponsor, and I will never forget them. I am grateful for the privilege of being a part of the team since 2013, and I wish everyone from HeliProz the very best of luck with  their next endeavors.

2015 Deland Helifest

01-11-2015

What better way to kick off the 2015 flying season than attending the first annual 2015 Deland Helifest, in Deland Florida. The event was held at the Deland Golden Hawks RC club in Deland, FL. Which is adjacent to the Deland airport. The turnout was pretty good, with somewhere around (guessing here) 40 registered pilots. There were a few spectators, and everyone had a great time.

The weather was clear, and sunny but very cold for us spoiled Floridians. A big thanks to Ben Fontaine, and Neal Kapaloric for organizing and putting on a successful event. Also, a big thank you to Zeal Blades and Rotary Wing RC, for donating the raffle prizes. Thanks also to the Deland Golden Hawks RC club for hosting the event.

I really had a wonderful time at the 2015 Deland helifest, and I truly hope they will hold the event next year.

Bavarian Demon

11-27-2014

Last month while attending the 2014 Fall Helicopter Classic at Triple Creek RC, I was presented with a wonderful surprise. Danny Melnick of Bavarian Demon approached me and asked if I would be willing to try out a Bavarian Demon 3X FBL controller. I was very eager to give one a try, so he installed it on my TSA Infusion 600N Platinum helicopter, and set it up for me.

It took us about three tanks of fuel to get it dialed in, but once we got it tuned....it flew really well. I flew it for the rest of the day, liking it more and more every time I sent the helicopter up.

I had no idea what would happen next, but he asked me to join the rep team for Bavarian Demon. I was speechless. I gratefully accepted, and I am now a part of the Bavarian Demon family.

I am happy to support and represent them for the rest of 2014, and I`m looking forward to being a part of the team in 2015. :)

2014 Orlando Helicopter Blowout

11-27-2014

It is once again time for the Orlando Helicopter Blowout, which is held annually at TORCHS helicopter club in Ocoee, FL. The 2014 Blowout is going to be the biggest ever, with a lot of new products being revealed. Like the new Energy line of blades from Zeal Blades.

There will be noon time demos by the pro pilots, and plenty of night flying...plus a night flight competition. There will also be an auto rotation contest for anyone who is interested in participating in that. There will also be a pilot raffle, and a general raffle with lots of really nice prizes to be won.

Experience RC will be there again with their big semi trailer retail store. Just in case we put our helicopters in and need parts to get back in the air. Graves RC will be there too, with a booth set up to sell fuel and other goodies.

This is the biggest fun fly which is hosted by a private RC club in the United States, and it is a lot of fun. This will be the fourth one for me, and I`m very excited about going. So if you are in the Orlando area on December 5th, 6th, and 7th.....head on over and check it out. For information about the blowout, or TORCHS helicopter club go to http://torchs.org/  Here you will find info about the club and directions to the field.

If you are able to make the event, please come by our tent ( Zeal Blades) and look me up. I hope to see you all there. Safe and Happy Flying :)
